On 29 October, under the leadership and guidance of Rev. Sujithar Sivanayagam, General Secretary of the National Christian Council of Sri Lanka, the heads of the member churches of the Council visited Jaffna.
The delegation stayed at the Christian Theological Seminary Guest Inn. On the morning of 30 October, they met with the members of the Christian Theological Seminary and later visited the Christa Serva Ashram community at Maruthanarmadam.
Subsequently, the delegation visited the “Chinthupathy” burial site in the Chemmani area of Jaffna, believed to be wartime mass grave where more than 200 skeletal remains were discovered. Through their visit, they expressed solidarity with the Tamil people and sought to strengthen relationships and reconciliation.
Among those who participated in the visit were Secretary Rev. Sujithar Sivanayagam, Bishop Nishantha Fernando, Bishop Dushantha Lakshman Retrico, Rev. A. S. Thavagunananthan, and several other church leaders.
29 ஒக்டோபர் தினத்தன்று அருட்பணியாளரும் இலங்கை தேசிய கிறிஸ்தவ மன்றத்தினுடைய பொதுச் செயலாளருமான அருட்பணி. சுஜிதர் சிவநாயகம் அவர்களுடைய வழிகாட்டலிலும் நெறிப்படுத்தலிலும் தேசிய கிறிஸ்தவ மன்றத்தில் அங்கம் வகிக்கும் திருச்சபைகளின் தலைவர்கள் யாழ்ப்பாணத்துக்கு வருகை தந்திருந்தனர். மருதனார்மடம் கிறிஸ்தவ இறையியல் கல்லூரிக் குடும்பத்தினரைச் சந்தித்து அங்கு விருந்தினர் விடுதியில் தங்கிய அவர்கள் 30ம் திகதி காலை மருதனார்மடம் கிறிஸ்தவ சேவ ஆச்சிரம சமூகத்தினரைச் சந்தித்தனர். அதன் பின்னர் யாழ்ப்பாணம் செம்மணிப் பகுதியில் யுத்தகாலத்தில் புதையுண்டதாகக் கருதப்படும் 200க்கும் மேற்பட்ட எலும்புக்கூடுகள் கண்டெடுக்கப்பட்ட “சிந்துபாத்தி” மயானத்துக்கு விஜயம் செய்து அங்கு தமிழ் மக்களுடனான உறவை வழிப்படுத்தும் அடையாள பிரசன்னத்தை வெளிப்படுத்தியிருந்தனர். இவ்வணியில் செயலாளர் அருட்பணி. சுஜிதர் சிவநாயகம், பேராயர் நிஷாந்த பெர்ணாண்டோ, பேராயர் துஷாந்த லக்ஸ்மன் றொட்றிகோ, அருட்பணி A. S. தேவகுணானந்தன் மற்றும் திருச்சபை தலைவர்கள் கலந்து கொண்டனர்.
