Empowering youth with dignity, skills, and sustainable livelihoods since 1996.
The SJVTC was established on May 6, 1996, in response to the challenges faced by youths during the forced conscription and arrests in the late 80s and 90s. The center was founded to restore dignity and hope through vocational training opportunities.
Since becoming a registered institution under TVEC in 2004, SJVTC has expanded its reach by offering over 20 accredited vocational courses, training more than 3,500 individuals across 35 batches, with an estimated employment rate exceeding 70%.
During the late 80s and 90s, when forced conscription by militants and indiscriminate arrests by security forces prevailed, many youths sought refuge in the boys' and girls' homes of CACM.
With a vision to restore dignity and provide vocational opportunities to such youths, SJVTC was established through the efforts of Rev. Dr. S. Jeyanesan and the initiatives of Late Bishop Rev. D. J. Ambalavanar.
Since November 2004, SJVTC has remained a registered vocational training institution under the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission (TVEC).
