On June 29th, 2024, the Vanni Region Youth Committee hosted its first-ever Sports Festival at the Murukandy Inthupuram Play Ground under the guidance of Rev. T. Susenthan, Vanni Regional Youth Coordinator, the event brought together enthusiastic youth from Akkarayan, Konavail, Maravankulam, Murukandy, Jeyapauram, and Kilinochchi churches.
Cricket for men, volleyball, and relay races for both men and women set the stage for a thrilling day of sportsmanship. The festivities began with a warm welcome speech, followed by the traditional flag hoisting ceremony, lighting of the oil lamp, and a heartfelt blessing speech from the chief guest, Rev. M. Jeyanatharajah. Adding to the event's prestige were the Guests of Honour: Mr. S. Thiruchelvam (ar amma civil construction), Mr. R. Sujanthan (CACM-Media Unit), along with Rev. S. R. Satheeskumar, Rev. David Nirushikan, Rev. Kalavathy Piratheepan, Bro. P. Pirasath, Mrs. M. Thurkadevi (CACM-Committee Member), and Mr. J. Kalindas (CACM-Jaffna Region Youth President).
The success of this inaugural event wouldn't have been possible without the dedication of many. A special thanks goes to the Wanni Region Committee for their tireless efforts in organizing the festival. Mr. S. Thiruchelvam deserves recognition for generously donating the trophies awarded to the winning teams. Appreciation is also extended to Mrs. M. Nira for providing lunch for the spectators and Mr. J. Lakshitharan for securing the playground and ensuring it was fully equipped for the game.
On behalf of the CACM, we express sincere hope that this event will pave the way for many more successful youth sports festivals in the future.
அமெரிக்கன் சிலோன் மிசன் திருச்சபையின் வன்னிப் பிராந்திய வாலிபர் பணியின் இணைப்பாளர் அருட்பணி ரி. சுசேந்தன் தலைமையிலும் வாலிபர் பணிக்குழுவின் ஒழுங்கமைப்பில் முறுகண்டி இந்துபுரம் பொது மைதானத்தில் வாலிபருக்கான விளையாட்டு விழா 29-06-2024 அன்று சிறப்பாக நடைபெற்றது.
இதிலே ஆண்களுக்கான கிரிக்கெட் போட்டியும், இருபாலருக்குமான கரப்பந்தாட்டம் மற்றும் அஞ்சல் ஓட்டப் போட்டிகள் என்பன நறைபெற்றன. இப்போட்டியிலே அக்கராயன், ஜெயபுரம், கோணாவில், முறுகண்டி, மறவன் குளம், கிளிநொச்சி சேர்ந்த திருச்சபை வாலிபர்கள் பங்கு பெற்றினர். இப்போட்டியானது வரவேற்புரை, கொடியேற்றல், மங்கள விளக்கேற்றல் மற்றும் பிரதம அதிதியின் ஆசியுரையுடன் போட்டிகள் ஆரம்பமானது.
இந்த நிகழ்விலே பிரதம அதிதியாக அருட்பணி. எம். ஜெயானந்தராசா (CACM வாலிபர் பணி இணைப்பாளர்) அவர்களும், கௌரவ அதிதிகளாக திரு. எஸ். திருச்செல்வம், திரு. ஆர். சுஜந்தன் (CACM ஊடக பிரிவு) ஆகியோருடன் அருட்பணி. எஸ். ஆர். சதீஸ்குமார், அருட்பணி. டேவிட நிருசிகன், அருட்பணி. கலாவதி பிரதீபன், அருட்சகோதரன். பி. பிரசாந், திருமதி. எம். துர்காதேவி (CACM நிர்வாக உறுப்பினர்), திரு. யே. கலிங்டஸ் (யாழ் பிராந்திய வாலிபர் தலைவர்) மற்றும் திருச்சபை விசுவாசிகள் எனப் பலரும் கலந்து கொண்டனர்.
முதல்முறையாக ஒழுங்கமைக்கப்பட்ட இவ் விளையாட்டு விழா சிறப்பாக நடைபெற பலரும் உதவி கரங்கள் நீட்டியிருந்தனர். விசேடமாக விழாவை ஒழங்கமைப்பதற்கு வன்னிப் பிராந்திய நிர்வாகமும், வெற்றி கிண்ணங்களைப் பெற திரு. எஸ். திருச்செல்வம் அவர்களும், விழாவில் பங்குகொண்டோருக்கான ஐக்கிய மதியவுணவை வழங்க திருமதி. எம். நிஷா அவர்களும், களத்தினை ஆயத்தப்படுத்துவதில் திரு. யே. லக்சிதரன் அவர்களும் உதவியிருந்தனர். மேலும் இது போன்ற வாலிபர்களை ஒன்றிணைக்கும் பணிகளை மென்மேலும் செய்திட உதயதாரகையின் அமெரிக்கன் சிலோன் மிசன் திருச்சபையின் வாழ்த்துக்கள்.
